- ADJOURNMENT –i) Julian Scales-had planted trees with the help of Alison and Janet Looser. He’s taken photos of Church Lane when flooded, which he’ll send to the clerk, for forwarding to Highways Dept. ii) John Pollett thought there was no poster advertising the meeting. There was but in a different format to usual, so he’d missed it. iii) Angel Fleming Brown said as the parish council were responsible for the play equipment it should pay for repairs, especially as the roundabout was damaged.
4.Millennium Green – i) Book signed as not inspected as Cllr. Hornsby not available. ii) Andy Carter said footplate on roundabout was more damaged, clerk to email Peter Hornsby urgently to ask him to decide if it should be declared unusable. iii) Mower had a new battery and started ok. Another discussion about costs involving it occurred. Chairman said more discussion needed when full council available, as both mower and play equipment were very costly. Meanwhile clerk will try to get quotes from people for seasonal grass cutting. iv) Brian Excell asked if he could buy a 20litre gerry can and a pint of engine oil for the mower. William Wrinch will supply red diesel.
5.Cables over the highway – Clerk to email Tony Leeson, that PC couldn’t claim VAT back unless they’d purchased and retained ownership of the cable.
6.Planning Applications –HMS Ganges, latest proposal for retirement homes has been rejected.
7.Footpaths – Nothing new to report.
8.Financial Report. – Current Ac. - £70, Business Premium - £4513, Savings - £1656. Expenditure - £18.68 to Paul Double Nurseries for 12 trees. ii) Andy Carter offered to write a simple accounting programme for the clerk.
9.Correspondence – Clerk to email PPA (Peninsula Parishes Alliance), saying that Harkstead had been missed off the draft constitution. Probably because no one had attended the last meeting.
ADJOURNMENT – nothing
10.Any other business – Brian Excell want to see insurance policy, to ascertain that PC’s can’t be sued. He was also concerned about an HGV lorry turning in his drive as it had gone the wrong way, by turning right not left at Church Lane junction.
11.Date next meeting – Monday April 12 at 7.30pm
