The HCBC was formed over 20 years ago and competes in the Suffolk Carpet Bowls Association summer and winter leagues. In the summer league this year we finished in the middle of the table, winning 5 games and losing 7. The winter league is formed with 3 divisions and last winter we dropped down from the 2nd to the 3rd division. We have not made a good start to the new season, although we have recently had a good 9-1 home win, that has been our only win in our first four games.
Our summer outing this year was a trip on the Bures valley railway, followed by lunch in Wroxham and then a boat trip on the Broads. The weather was good and it was a nice day out.
We have recently had our annual fish and chip supper followed by a session of bingo.
The bowls club holds four or five social events each year and meets most Wednesday evenings in Harkstead village hall for club night practice followed by light refreshments. We always welcome new members, anyone interested is invited to come and give it a try on one of the club nights or phone 01473 328418 or 01473 310167.
